SkateFITness Clinic

What

Our skate fitness class is a 6 to 12 mile skate clinic with built-in skate technique and group skate strategy exercises operating every third Monday of the month from May through September.

Where

We skate the Dakota Rail Regional Trail, a spectacular trail beginning in the City of Wayzata leading to fantastic views of Lake Minnetonka.

Who

Beginner 3 (OSB3) and above

 

What we Learn:
  • Trail negotiation techniques;

  • New skate skills such as t-drags, advanced brakeless braking techniques and advanced turns such as the lunge turn, parallel ski turns and forward crossovers;

  • Skating for fitness – warm up, active stretch (on skates) cardiovascular fitness, aneorobic fitness and cool downs;

  • How to skate in groups (pacelines);  and,

  • Technique and Power in Strides- the classic, power and double push.

Where we Meet:

We park in T&T Boatwork’s parking lot at 220 Grove Lane E.  We gather in the parking lot lane closest to the boat slips.  From the boat slips we begin our trail skate for fitness class.

S2: July 16, 2018 / 6:30 – 8:30 PM

S3: August 20, 2018 / 6:30 – 8:30 PM

S4: September 17, 2018 / 6:30 – 8:30 PM
